米領ヴァージン諸島はカリブ海に浮かぶ４つの小島で構成されています。米国領として納税義務はあるが、連邦議会に代表を送ることはできないと島が作ったパンフレットに書いてありました。「代表なくして課税なし」というあのアメリカ建国の標語はいったいどこへ行ったんでしょう？
ちなみに、アメリカ本土と違って、車は左側通行でした。
US Virgin Islands are composed of four small islands in the Carribean Sea. According to a leaflet distributed by the inhabitants of the islands, they are obliged to pay tax to the US government but they are not represented in the Congress. If that's the case, what means the slogan the American colonists held in the struggle against the Great Britain: "No representatives, no levies?"
Besides, they drive on the left, unlike in the US mainland.
