ロンドンからさして遠くもないところに、こんな自然が広がっているのは素敵です。やはりイギリスは毛織物から発展しただけあって、羊の成育に適しているんですね。湖水地方はロジャー・ラビットのふるさとですが、高速道路上にうさぎがたむろしているのにはびっくりしました。
It is marvelous that Englishmen can enjoy such good nature not far from London. England seems pretty fit for growing sheep, which was one of the chief reasons for her industrial development. Lake District is the home of 'Roger, rabbit." I was astonished to find lots of rabbits on the highway.
