ドン・キホーテは風車を怪物と間違えて突撃したそうです。本を読んだときはあまりにも荒唐無稽な話だなと思いましたが、ここスペインで本物の風車を見て、合点がゆきました。オランダの優しい風車とも、海の風が見えるようなギリシャの風車とも違って、大平原の丘の上にそびえるここスペインの風車はまさにモンスターです。ぜひみなさんもここに来て、スペインの大平原を流れる風と雲を感じてください。
Don Quixote attacked a windmill as a monster. When I read the story, I thought it quite non-sense. But hardly as I saw the windmill here in Spain, I understood. Quite apart from lovely windmills in the Netherlands or those in Greece which made us feel sea breeze, the windmills in Spain standing on a hill looking over a great plain are nothing but monsters. Come and feel the wind and clouds running over the great land of Spain.
