サハラ砂漠に触れることができます。町中ではなく砂漠のすぐそばにある、ベドウィンの人のやっている宿に泊まりました。町中で客引きをしていた宿の人と交渉して連れて行ってもらったのですが、そこで一緒になった欧米人客が「本当に部屋は空いているんだろうな」と何度も確認したにもかかわらず、着いてみると部屋は満杯。まあ、ここではそういうこともあるだろうとある程度予想していた事態だったので、それほど怒りもせず、値段を下げさせて、屋外のテントで寝ました。日中は熱くて（暑くではない）なにもする気になりませんが、夜明け・夕暮れ時の斜光に照らされた砂漠はとても美しいです。
You can touch Sahara Desert here. We stayed at a lodging adjacent to the desert run by local Bedouin people. We were taken there by a Bedwin man who sought guests at a nearby town. Although our fellow guests asked him again and again if he was sure that there really were rooms available and he assured it every time, it turned out, at our arrival, that the rooms were occupied. As I half-anticipated that such a thing would happen there, I was not outraged and made a deal to stay in an outside tent at a reduced fee. In the desert the sun literally burned in the daytime discouraging people to do anything but to lie down under the roof. Yet at dawn and at dusk the desert was breathtakingly beautiful.
