丘陵と渓谷を利用した天然の要害に築かれた都市です。今日では世界有数の金融センターとなっており、中世の城塞の遺構と、現代の銀行やＥＵの諸機関の施設との新旧の顔が不思議に混在しています。
The city of Luxembourg was built as a natural fortress protected by a hill and valleys. Today two aspects co-exist here: medieval ruins of the fortress and modern buildings of many banks and institutions of the European Union.
