コモ湖は、スイスとの国境にあり、ヘミングウェイの「武器よさらば」での離軍兵と看護婦のカップルの逃避行の舞台となったところです。穏やかな保養地ですが、小説の悲劇的な結末を思いながら眺めると手に汗握る感じがしてきます。
Lake Como is located at the border with Switzland. It is where a couple of an ex-volunteer soldier and a nurse escaped from pursuiters in the novel "Farewell to Arms" by Hemingway. Though the area is a pleasant health resort, one may feel thrilled there with the tragedic ending of the novel in mind.
