小ベニスと呼ばれている運河の町です。冬でとても寒かったので、カフェに入り「ショコラーデ」というものをココアだろうと思って注文したところ、冷たいチョコレートシェイクのようなものが出てきました。寒かったけど、とてもおいしかったです。
最初に町に着いたときはもう日暮れで、中心部への行き方がよく分からなかったので、近くにあった「食堂兼ホテル」の看板がある店で泊まろうとしたところ、ホテルはもう営業してないとのこと。スゴスゴと店を出ると、そこでワイワイと食事をしていたおばちゃんが出てきて、車で中心部まで送ってあげるよと感涙もののお言葉！こちら自身も車旅行だったので、有難くお断りしたのですが、見知らぬ旅先でのこういう親切は本当に身にしみます。
Bamberg is called Little Venice for the sake of the canals. I visited it in winter and it was so chilly that I ordered a "chocolade" in a cafe, deeming it to be hot chocolate. But the "chocolade" turned out to be something like cold chocolate shake. Actually, it tasted very good though it made me really cool!
I arrived the city after dark and I had no idea which way I should take to go to the city center. So I asked for a bed at a nearby restaurant which also posted a sign of "Hotel." But I found the hotel was no longer in operation. Leaving there heavy-heartedly, a woman who was eating in the restaurant came over and kindly offered us a ride to the city center! Such experiences have made travel precious for me.
