アリススプリングスからエアーズロックやキングスキャニオンを巡るキャンピング・ツアーに参加しました。食事は参加者みんなでバーベキューをし、宿泊は星を見ながらテントでという感じで、林間学校のようで、楽しかったです。
エアーズロックのてっぺんにも登りましたが、周囲が平原なので、特に絶景とは言いかねます。それでも、せっかくここまで来たのだから登ろうという人が多く、蟻の群のように連なって登ることになります。頂上では、遮るものがなく、風が強いので、疲れた身体に心地よいです。
We participated in a camping tour from Alice Springs visiting Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon. It was a great fun with barbeques and sleep in a tent under stars.
We climbed up to the top of Ayers Rock. The view from there was less than magnificent for you can see nothing but endless plain. Nevertheless many travellers wished to reach there and they go up like a line of ants. At the top strong winds would heal you of the pains.
